Your best concert ?

All is in the title !

My favourite concert of all the time : Averse + Dornenreich + Alcest @Lille (France)

So far, God is an Astronaut in Warsaw, Poland. (Opened for by a Polish post-rock band, Sands of Sedna) My second choice would be Alice in Chains, in Boston, although without Layne Staley they simply aren't the same.

I am seeing Alcest later this month, and I would not be surprised if that becomes my favourite live show!

Best show hands down was Antestor at Cornerstone Festival 2000. They played all their songs from the masterpiece ''Return of the Black Death.''
It was truly spiritual.

Humorous anecdote: I remember seeing this one guy at the festival, looking at me rather menacingly (we all know the Black Metal pose). He was in all black attire, wearing sandals, so I knew right away that he was a black metaller out of his element, lol. I didn't think much of it at first...
...until about 30 minutes before the Antestor show.
I saw him looking at me (ME!) singleing me out and just glaring at me. I was wearing corpsepaint, and an Antestor t-shirt. I just ignored the guy.
Antestor comes on stage, and the guitarist is right in front of me.
Then we both knew.
I think he was in shock at actually seeing someone who was there SPECIFICALLY to see Antestor (Extol, Living Sacrifice, and a slew of other good bands were also there).
After that, every time we saw each other it was all smiles.

In Serbia there is no-one who would organize concerts.
There is going to be only one Black Metal show this year (Gorgoroth, Vader) and few Power Metal and that's it.
I haven't been to lots of concerts, but I went when Mayhem (+Noctiferia, I Divine) were playing and it was great.
The setlist was great (many songs from De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas) and Attila was just scary. He wore a dead pope uniform and he had a hanging rope and the skull to which he was talking to.

I saw Mayhem this year at Wacken Open Air and fuck, it was one of the worst performance I've ever seen. Very disappointed...

Well, even though I've never been on a festival show of a Black Metal band, I doubt that it is possible to create such an atmosphere like in the place where can fit 500 people. And all of 500 people know why they're there, they are not just killing time, and they make a living hell. For hour and a half there were non-stop mosh pits and the sound was really loud.

Those guys were really friendly and I had a chance to meet all of them before concert, take a picture and have them sign my ticket.

Met Neige tonight. The show was fucking incredible, although the first act, Frozen, were horrible. They were Pantera wannabes with idiotic lyrics, although the head banging keyboardist made them worth while. The entire crowd hated them, and refused to sing along when he asked, or to pump fists when he wanted them to.. I felt sorry for the guy, actually, his macho charade probably converted to tears as soon as he left the stage.

Junius, the second band, are a local post rock band, whom I'd never heard of. They were fantastic though, the vocals were quite nice, the music leaning more towards post metal than post rock. I nearly purchased a split of them with Rosetta (whom I like), but I had already spent $65 on Ecailles de Lune, a t-shirt, and the Le Secret LP.

Alcest were as expected, Neige didn't move much on stage save for a few head bangs, but the whole band were amazing, although the vocals were at times a bit drowned out. Their set also seemed rather short, although the song lengths could have given that illusion, as they played both songs off Le Secret and both parts of "Ecailles de Lune", all of which are rather long.

I met Neige immediately after arriving. He was standing near the merchandise talking to two other men, and after he finished I spoke to him briefly. Unfortunately, my social awkwardness and shyness made me mix up what I was trying to say, and I honestly think I completely confused him, as he asked me "So what was it you were intending to ask me my friend?", a question which I honestly couldn't answer. It was great to meet him and shake his hand though, although I couldn't build up the courage to ask for a photo or anything.

Enslaved took a while to start, but the crowd was greatly anticipating them (the place was full of their fans, although Alcest and Junius received very positive receptions) and welcomed them heartily. I am only familiar with one of their albums, off of which they played no material, but what they did play was highly enjoyable and energetic. Their stage presence was rather cliche and cheesy, with devil horns and fist pumping aplenty, but they seemed to be doing it not to look cool but to have fun, and indeed that was the result. They constantly bore huge smiles, and the vocalist/bass player's between song banter was quite amusing. I felt bad having to leave part way through their set, as I was having a great time..

All in all, it was the greatest concert of my life thus far, although God is an Astronaut are not far behind.

Bah, sorry, I was exhausted when I got home, and now that I think of it, they did NOT play part II, unfortunately.

Oh, gosh! I was at that show, maann!
