Tragic news, B. frontman of Lifelover is dead...
It's a tragic loss for the scene and for the future of Lifelover...

medication overdose, i believe. not sure if accidental or intentional.

We don't know yet, but the band want to carry on the band.

And they'll explain the cause of death as soon as they'll know more about this tragic story...

I haven't listened to them yet, but they are one of the bands on my list. It is a shame to hear that he has passed..

I'll create a topic about the band with some links to youtube, so you'll have the possibility listen a few really great songs and make an idea but yeah, it's really tragic for the scene...

There are a LOT of really great songs from this band...

A friend was at the Belgium gig and he also told me that Lifelover played only 4 songs without B...

Well, He also was guitarist in Ondskapt and IXXI, which are two of my favorites bands.
So I'm unhappy. RIP and all.

I hope that this will not be the end of Lifelover.
I read somewhere today that he apparently ''died in his sleep'' and that drugs were not involved. But then again... when aren't drugs involved?

The music will still be there to provide a soundtrack for the bad times, and the memory will live on.

I am listening to them now, and I must say that they are quite great, which makes it a bittersweet moment since one of their members is now dead. His vocal style seems quite different then what I typically hear in black metal, it is more strained, I would say. It is truly a shame that B. has passed..

I was really shocked when I found out. Such a shame.
I'm really sad because now I'll probably never get a chance to see them live.
I don't have doubts that they will continue writing music without him (even though he was the one who was writing almost all the music) because, as I've heard, they have a four-album contract with their current label and Sjukdom was first.

And no, it was Kim Carlsson (also in Hypothermia and aka () in Lifelover) who wrote almost all the lyrics.
He also is the lead vocalist.
So as long as () is here, Livelover can still exist.
But I don't know about who was the principal composer.

Well, I have a cold look on what happened.

First of all I never liked Lifelover pretty much and Second of all I never understood why everybody
is so serious in the Black Metal genre but when something like this happen everybody cries. just take a look at the last.fm site.

First of all, if you never liked Lifelover, or IXXI, or Ondskapt, it's quite normal if you don't fucking care about his death.
Second, We do not cry. We are disapointed (he was the main composer). Oh and, my disapointment still is serious business if you prefer this way.

"Official Statement

On Friday morning, September 9th, B didn’t wake up from his sleep. He didn’t take his own life nor was he victim of any apparent action. The authorities in charge are still examinating his body to find the exact cause of death.



We, the remaining members of Lifelover have decided to lay the band to rest. This would be the only right thing to do considering B was the main composer of Lifelover.



Therefore, we won't be performing at our coming, planned shows. We are very sorry and hope that all of the fans that had been looking forward to seeing Lifelover play live will understand. The concerts in Belgium and Holland were the last concerts of Lifelover. We want to thank everybody that was present and helped out, especially Rob "Svograth" Polon of Monads and the members of IXXI.



These last days have been very hard for us and everybody that knew B. We want to thank all of our fans for being so respectful, dedicated and understanding and, most of all, for supporting Lifelover during all these years.

I am surprised that they still have not reached any conclusion as to why he died. I had assumed it was chemical related, but I would think that would have been more obvious to those performing the autopsy.

I was hoping they would somehow keep the band together. It's truly sad. Fuck the haters...

I'm glad some people here care about this. 99% of the comments on lifelovers last.fm page are all negative, people saying they are glad he is dead.
