Raed Abou Saleh

Hey there,

My name is Raed, 21 years old from Lebanon.

I discovered heavy metal music in general back in 2004, I live in a country where heavy metal music is sometimes described by satanic but mainly "too heavy"

Anyway I'm basically into folk metal and black metal, I also listen to almost all other subgenres of heavy metal such as death/doom, gothic/death, some thrash and occasionally some power metal! However folk and black are what can be considered "deep" by me, when it comes to the term "post-black", I just don't like to use it, I prefer to call bands such as Alcest, Lantlôs, Heretoir...: black metal with post-rock influences or vice versa... I also enjoy some dark ambient (think of Burzum's Tomhet), neofolk (albums such as Ulver's Kveldssanger, Nest stuff, etc...), neoclassic music (such as La Dryade by Gris), some oldies such as The Everly Brothers and Modern Talking!

My favorite bands of all time are: Alkonost (Russian folk metal), Agalloch, Alcest, Crematory and Forest Of Shadows!

I speak 3 languages: Arabic (mother tongue), French and English! (And also learned some German and Russian), I am a short-stories writer and a poet as well! (With over 50 poems and 4 short stories so far), I also recorded some kind of a noisy/atmospheric black metal demo (would love to share it in here) all by myself! (Oh no, not another bedroom demo ) Other interests: cinema & movie making, psychology, philosophy, cultures, geography... I also have a history with programming and web development and my major is business computing!
